2024 Spotlight Athletes

Congrats to the Week 3 (Sept 2) Solon Athletic Boosters Spotlight Athletes, sponsored by Chick-fil-A Solon!

Lexi Brown (Girls Golf) joined the team this season after not playing as a freshman. She persevered through some early natural struggles & has recently begun to see some improvements. She has the drive & dedication to continue to work hard in practice to reach her goals on the course.

Matthew Contipelli (Boys Golf) shot 38 in a win vs. Willoughby. He shot 36 in win vs. WRA, & he shot 37 in a victory at Nordonia.

Evan Halperin (Boys XC) led the Comets JV team across the finish line at the Hilliard Davidson Hot Summer Bash last weekend, finishing 16th place overall. Evan ran nearly a minute personal best time for 5K, finishing in 18:35. Evan demonstrated impressive grit & sense of competitiveness as he battled back and forth with the leaders throughout the race. Strong work Evan! Keep chopping wood! 

Morgan Hillman (Girls XC) PR'd at the Hilliard Davidson Hot Summer Bash. She is a leader on the team & always striving for her best.

Rowan Hirsh (Boys Soccer) had a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Akron North.

Tyler Morrison (Boys Soccer) has pushed the team during practices, winning the two-mile run & earning productive minutes.

Ella Nasca (Cheerleading) This is Ella's first year as an SHS Cheerleader but she is no stranger to the sport. She has been instrumental in helping us start our building/stunting era here at SHS! Ella is supportive & respectful to her squad & coaches & is always willing & wanting to work & improve as a whole unit. We are so glad she joined us for her senior year!

Cooper Walker (Football) scored two touchdowns to help win the game!

Claire Bush (Volleyball) faced adversity with a smile with teammates returning from injury & being moved around with a few different rotations and put up numbers for the team with kills, digs, assists, and was a consistent server as well. 

Christiano Davili (Boys soccer) had a goal & an assist in the last two games, leading to two wins. ~

Adriana Friedman (Girls Tennis) played an impressive match against her Mayfield HS opponents. She won 6-2, 6-0. Good job on all your hard work!

Marin Howard (Girls XC) competed in our preseason invitational & finished 5th for our team at our home meet this past weekend. Marin is a hard worker and improving each week and race.

Noah Konheim (Boys Soccer) had a goal in each of the last two games, with one providing the winning margin in a 1-0 win.

Sonia LaMarre (Girls Soccer) scored a total of 9 goals in the first three games of the season. Sonia has ignited our offense and playing great team defense. 

Paulina Loffe (Girls Tennis) played a tough match against her opponent trying to carry the team to victory.

Jania Daniels McGee (Volleyball) was a huge server for us last week, kept a positive & competitive attitude through adversity in our games, & was a consistent player through a handful of kills, service points, & was even a dig leader last week to help us to our first win at Normandy.

Samantha Miller (Girls Golf) persevered through some challenges on the golf course this week. She provided an excellent example to her teammates of how to fight through some struggles & not let a bad hole ruin the rest of your round.

Maxim Towers (Boys Soccer) His stellar defensive play has held the opposition to less than a goal per game.

Victoria Dai (Girls Tennis) is a great teammate & played in a difficult match against her Kenston opponent.

Fasi Embacher (Boys Soccer) scored 2 goals within 30 seconds in a 3-1 win vs. Orange.

Vince Feudo (Boys Golf) shot 81 at Hudson Invitational including a 38 on the back nine. He also had an 83 at Pine Hills in the first Suburban Tournament.

Dylan Hershey (Boys Soccer) gracefully & adeptly managed a position change to provide effective midfield play to help win the season opener.

Jimmer McMeechan (Boys Soccer) managed 6 saves, many in critical waning moments, to help secure a win his high school debut.

Mia Patriarco (Girls Soccer) was selected for her great leadership & high standard she sets for herself & her teammates; always brings her best effort & scored an amazing upper 90 goal during preseason.

Matthew Scipione (Boys XC) paced his team with an individual Top 10 Finish at the OHSAA Preseason Invitational; ran a determined race working to complete with the lead pack throughout the race, finishing time 16.21, is a lifetime best 5K time for him by over 30 seconds.

Serena Wu (Girls Golf) has begun this season in dominant fashion & was the tournament medalist in all 3 events thus far; She sets an outstanding example for her teammates of hard work & dedication to her craft, She is a tremendous leader for our team.
